After graduating from Guildford School Of Acting in 1986, Richard started working in repertory theatre companies including the New Vic, Stoke & Horseshoe Basingstoke, in many productions including Master Harold & The Boys, As You Like It, Amadeus & the title role in Hamlet. He played Roche in Rat In The Skull for Theater Exchange, Minneapolis USA. London productions include Northanger Abbey at Greenwich, Glory Of The Garden at Duke Of Yorks, and his own one-man musicals We Could Be Heroes at the Bridewell & The Fall & Rise of Lenny Smallman at the Arts Theatre West End & Yvonne Arnaud Guildford.

Leading roles in numerous TV series include Foggy in First Of The Summer Wine, Colin in Simon Nye's Is It Legal, Henry in Wonderful You (co-written with Chris Niel for ITV) & Nathan in C4's Emmy award winning Sugar Rush, as well as appearances in many programmes such as Hornblower, Party Animals, Love Soup & The Catherine Tate Show.

Feature Films include Gordon in James Rouse's Downhill, Robert Ferrars in Ang Lee's Sense And Sensibility and the unfortunate Rambler in Ben Wheatley's Sightseers. Regular work on Radio 4 include all 9 series of the award-winning Clare In The Community, and recently as the vile Obediah Slope in The Barchester Chronicles.
